If you
happen to get on the e-mail list for a band or a musical artist such as Johnny
Cash they will send you promotional discount opportunities/cards as a part of
the e-mail. Most of these bands have some sort of online store where you can
buy shirts or signed posters for fans to hang up on their wall.
The price
typically depends upon how rare the item is, if the item is a one of a kind
situation you likely will have to pay a considerable sum in order to get the
item. Sometimes the discount card can knock down the price on some of these
rare items, but if an item is so unique they will disqualify it from any kind
of promotional giveaway or discount agreement.
Best Buy is
another company that will sometimes offer a gift card as a part of their mass
e-mail solicitations. This practice has been given the go ahead by executive
Richard Schulze. Retailers are often smart to hand out by promotional gear and
discount agreement. John Menard set it up so you could win a free saw or some
piece of equipment every time you went into Menards. The quality of the
equipment was not the point, but the point of the items were that they were
free.
Menards
also has an e-mail and mailing list where I am sure that they offer gift cards
to potential customers or valued customers of the past. Lowe's and Home Depot
who are major home improvement competitors on a national scale are always
seemingly trying to top each other when it comes to discount card deal. Lowe's
always seems to win and end up offering the better agreement. Lowe's is trying
to do everything they can to please shareholders and consumers with their
planned discount agreements.
